![]() ![]() I’ve already been using it to a certain extent in combination with an older version of Notational Velocity ( NVAlt) which will sync to Simple Note on my iPhone and the web. The last option I’m considering is Simple Note. There is minimal formatting options on the web version. I am fully invested in the Apple ecosystem but I’m not sure I can take advantage of it at work because I cannot connect the work station to my Apple ID so I can only access it via the iCloud interface via a web browser which does not allow the addition of images as anything other than links. Of course, this only works if you’re fully invested in the Apple ecosystem. It works across just about every possible platform and looks to be designed to integrate seamlessly with Office products, though for me that’s not as big a selling feature.Īnother solution might be to use Apple’s Notes app which is available across the iPhone, iPad and the desktop. I’ve already adopted Outlook on my iPhone as a legitimate alternative to Apple’s kludgey Mail app which neither filters junk mail nor handles Gmail with any sort of efficiency so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Microsoft is quietly creeping in with alternatives that might actually be useful. Microsoft OneNote is another candidate though I cringe at the idea of utilizing another Microsoft product. There is a plug-in for Chrome to automatically add content to Keep from a web site and options to move content from Keep to Google Docs so if you are already entrenched in the Google camp, this might be a good candidate for you. I had several folks recommend Google Keep as an option which offers a web based interface as well as an iOS (and Android of course). I don’t usually use it like a paper notebook, it tends to be things that are copied and pasted from a digital source to a digital source, like URLs or in preparation to be digital content. I have collected some recipes in Evernote over the years but mostly I have various snippets, half-baked ideas, some lists and idea starters and an assortment of links stored in Evernote. Sadly, my work computer does not allow me to install any applications so whatever options I choose need to have a web interface. I’m not exactly a “power-user” of Evernote but I like being able to access notes across multiple devices (iOS, web and home computer) so I think I’ll try to find a different solution sadly. Now, if you want to use the service on more than two devices, you must pay for their premium service to the tune of $34.99/year for their Plus account or $69.99/year for their Premium account though their are offering the Premium account for a year at half price to entice folk over to the paid service. There have been lots of articles floating around the internet this week following the announcement that Evernote was changing its policies regarding how it was handling its accounts. ![]() ![]() ![]() It also means you are able to chose between a symmetrical or asymmetrical style depending on what you prefer. There are many customisation options due to the modular components, and we found it easy to adjust the controller as needed when switching games. It's in the surplus of extra buttons - including the phenomenal feeling triggers and the four on the face - that elevate this controller above its similarly priced competition. Similar to the Razer Wolverine line, it's wired, but this approach means that there is zero latency in the response time perfect for those gaming sessions where milliseconds matter. Plus, we appreciated the ability to circumvent Microsoft's wireless connections when hooking the eSwap X Pro up to a console. If you're looking for a premium, customizable controller for PC, this is about as good as it gets. That goes hand-in-hand with the build quality - being a larger than average gamepad with a suitably heavier, more substantial, feel. We did notice that this extra weight makes the whole controller feel a little front heavy, but it never influenced comfort or the ability to reach any of the buttons. We particularly enjoyed the accessibility options baked into this modular design in our own testing. From its solid feel in the hand to its massive array of customization options, from its speed and response times to its endless supply of extra buttons - there's something special about this gamepad. The Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro is the best PC controller on the market right now. If you'd like to tailor your search a little more, we've collated lists of the best Xbox Series X controllers, as well as the best racing wheels and best joysticks. The market is stocked full of wired and wireless options, and with the popularity of having a console and gaming PC setup at the moment, you'll most likely be able to find something that works for both. Along with your purchase, you'll usually get conclusive software that lets you control the essential parts of your gamepad, with some letting you set custom dead zones for the analog sticks. Today's PC controllers pack a whole host of customization features, including those aforementioned extra paddles, and even the ability to swap out whole components thanks to modular designs. On the other end of the console spectrum, the Xbox Elite Series 2 has been one of the best PC controllers for a while, and the Core version we reviewed recently is a cheaper entry point for it. These pads can be expensive though, which is why it's great to see GameSir make its first appearance on the list below with its new T4 Kaleid controller for PC and Nintendo Switch.
